10 Things To Do In Fort Myers After A Fishing Charter With Captain Jack Swedberg

Fort Myers Inshore Fishing Charters

Our Fort Myers inshore fishing charters take place in the calm back bays and shallow estuaries around Fort Myers, making for a relaxing and comfortable day on the water. These protected waters are surrounded by mangroves, winding creeks, and tons of wildlife, so it’s common to see dolphins, manatees, and birds working the shoreline while we fish.

The best part about Fort Myers inshore fishing charters is how consistent the action can be. These backwaters are full of fish, and whether you’re brand new to fishing or someone who spends a lot of time on the water, there’s always something exciting waiting to bite.

Snook & Redfish in Fort Myers

When it comes to Fort Myers inshore fishing charters, two of our main targets are Snook and Redfish.

Both of these fish are true staples of the Southwest Florida fishery and they’re an absolute blast to catch. Snook are known for their explosive strikes and powerful runs, while redfish are strong fighters that love cruising the mangrove shorelines.

It’s not uncommon for these fish to reach over 40 inches, and hooking into one in shallow water is something you won’t forget anytime soon.

Most of the time we practice catch and release with snook and redfish to help keep the fishery strong for the future. Captain Jack takes a lot of pride in protecting these fish so that anglers can continue enjoying Fort Myers inshore fishing charters for years to come.

Inshore Fish You Can Bring Home for Dinner

If bringing home some fresh fish is part of the plan, Fort Myers inshore fishing charters offer plenty of great options.

Captain Jack often targets species like Speckled Trout, Pompano, Snapper, Sheepshead, and other great eating fish found throughout the back bays. These fish are not only fun to catch, but they also make for an incredible meal after a day on the water.

If you don’t feel like cooking the fish yourself, there are several restaurants around Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel that offer “cook your catch” services. Captain Jack will always fillet and bag your fish for you at the dock so it’s ready to take straight to the restaurant or back to your rental for dinner.

Sharks & Big Fish on Fort Myers Inshore Fishing Charters

Another fun part of Fort Myers inshore fishing charters is the chance to hook into something big.

The same waters we fish for snook and redfish are also home to sharks and even Goliath Grouper. These fish can grow to several hundred pounds and when one grabs the bait, things get exciting fast.

Hooking into one of these giants is an unforgettable experience and a great way to add some serious adrenaline to your fishing trip.

A Perfect Trip for Any Angler

Whether you’re just learning how to fish or you’ve been doing it your whole life, Fort Myers inshore fishing charters are a great way to spend the day on the water.

Between the variety of species, the calm waters, and the incredible scenery, there’s always something happening in the Fort Myers backcountry. It’s the perfect trip for families, groups of friends, or anyone looking to experience some of the best fishing Southwest Florida has to offer.
