Fishing here in Fort Myers has been absolutely on fire this week. We’ve had a killer mix of inshore and nearshore action, and the fish are definitely hungry. If you’ve been thinking about getting out on the water… now’s the time.

We’ve been spotting big schools of permit on the nearshore reefs, especially first thing in the morning when the seas are calm. Live crabs have been the ticket — drop one in the right spot and hang on. Some of these schools have 20–30 fish cruising right around the structure.

Cobia are rolling through those same wrecks too. A few big free-swimmers have been roaming around and surprising anglers who weren’t quite ready for them. The afternoon cobia bite has been really fun — always keep a rod rigged and ready for a shot!

And if you’re a fan of triple tail, the crab traps off Fort Myers have been loaded. We’ve landed fish in that 8–15 lb range all week. A well-placed shrimp or small baitfish under a float, and it’s game on.

Inshore, the snook and redfish bite has been steady in the backwaters. Snook are stacked along creek mouths and mangroves with good current flow, and reds are hanging around the oyster bars from Fort Myers toward Matlacha. The early topwater action has been a blast — big blowups and a lot of laughs.

If you want to get in on this bite, I’d love to have you aboard. Give me a call or shoot me a message and let’s go chase some fish!
